National Sailfish and Marlin Tournament

Participation is individual and a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 people must fish in each boat, the category is by release and each one is equivalent to 100 points per sail and 500 per marlin, 30-pound rope tension.

For 25 years, the mandatory use of circle hook was established for tournaments of species such as Marlin and Sailfish, which allows fish to hook more easily and not suffer consequences when released.

The maximum fight time (to get closer to the boat) is 20 minutes.

Our regulations are subject to the provisions and rules of the IGFA (International Game Fishing Association), the world regulatory body for all formal tournaments, and to which we have been affiliated since 1949.

The first three places per team and individual per stage of each category, and the 3 best places in the final classification are awarded.
